The global Shark Tank franchise has a Nepali language adaptation called Shark Tank Nepal, which is produced and broadcast by Himalaya Television HD. On July 2, 2025 (Ashar 18, 2082), it made its debut. It currently airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9 p.m.
With 100 entrepreneurs (five pitches per episode), Season 1 consists of 20 episodes. The program is intended for companies in Nepal that generate income and are run by Nepali nationals and have been in operation for at least a year.
The panel of five Sharks includes:
Hem Raj Dhakal, Co‑founder of IME Group
Cabinet Shrestha, Managing Director of Agni Group
Ritu Singh Vaidya, MD of Vaidya’s Organisation
Anand Bagaria, Managing Director of Nimbus Group
Saurabh Jyoti, Director at Jyoti/Padma Jyoti Group
—all major figures across financial services, agribusiness, automotive, trading, and technology sectors.
The show, which was directed by Simos (or Simosh) Sunuwar, who is well-known for his work on Himalaya Roadies, features high-end production values and innovative storytelling.
Over the course of the season, the Sharks intend to invest a total of NPR350–400 million (~US$2.6–3 million), negotiating debt or equity agreements and providing mentorship opportunities.
By providing local companies with a national platform, exposure to capital, and strategic advice, Shark Tank Nepal seeks to stimulate Nepal’s startup ecosystem rather than just provide entertainment.
It encourages innovation from rural agritech businesses to tech startups in Kathmandu, showcasing the diversity of Nepali business.
With its debut, Nepal joins Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and other countries as the 54th international Shark Tank franchise to display entrepreneurial aspirations on a national scale.
All things considered, Shark Tank Nepal represents an important turning point—combining drama, compromise, and real-world impact while spotlighting the energy and potential of Nepali entrepreneurs.
