World Postal Day is held to mark the 50th anniversary of the World Postal Union, the largest postal union in the world. World Postal Day is a public holiday to create a better, more sustainable and efficient postal system for all.

Countries wishing to transport international mail must prepare for World Postal Day by preparing to deliver their international mail. We have the largest postal union in the world, the World Postal Union, with more than 1.5 billion members. For countries wishing to transport international mail, we have prepared ourselves for this with a national post office, a postal service and a global postal network.

Even in the age of digital communications, the work of the World Postal Union remains very important for global communication and trade. World Postal Day celebrates this treaty because it now helps shape the way people can send and receive mail. Although the Treaty itself has been amended several times to update the policy, it has helped to introduce a general flat rate for sending mail anywhere in the world. Although each country has its own postal service, we have helped to boost postal services by removing the international barriers that previously restricted it.

Emirates Post Group said: “We are here to celebrate the positive role of the postal service around the world and also to honour the best letter writer of the year. The motive for celebrating this day worldwide is to create a sense of pride in the role of the postal service in global communication and trade. World Postal Day was established by the World Postal Union (UPU) and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and aims to create a positive image of international communication, trade and cooperation. In recognition of this fact and the important role played by U-PU, we celebrate the day it was founded.

The officers and staff of Pakistan Post are held in postal circles throughout the country and the UPU flag is also flown by the General Secretary of the Universal Postal Union, Syed Ameer Ali Shah, while the message is read by its Director – General Secretary, General Secretary, General Secretary and other high-ranking officials.

To mark World Postal Day, which is celebrated by the World Postal Union (UPU), Emirates Post Group held an event at its headquarters and awarded the top winners of International Letter Writing Week (ILSW) 2016. The event brought together more than 1,000 letter writers from around the world to celebrate their achievements in letter writing and integrated postal services. While U PU, founded in 1969, focuses more on letter writing, the International Letter Writing Week has been a very active event since its inception.
