World Tourism Day falls on a very significant day, because it marks the day when tourism is of interest to many people around the world, especially tourists from the southern hemisphere, when it is in the interest of many peoples around the world. Today is a day for every country in the world to launch infrastructure programs and announce development plans. September 27 is also the Day of Tourism, and this day is appropriate for World Tourism Day, as it is held at the beginning of the summer season, the most important time for tourism and tourism development. It is also the first day of summer and the beginning of a new year for the tourism industry on the world stage.

Varanasi has joined the national celebration of World Tourism Day by welcoming tourists to the city. The Karnataka Tourist Office celebrated World Tourism Day with a special ceremony and greeted the tourists with flowers and sweets. On the World Tourism Day, all tourists from all over the world were offered free admission to the Karla Water Park.

Recognising the importance of global growth and the strengthening of the sector, UNWTO decided to establish World Tourism Day, which was first celebrated on 27 September 1980.
